In Nov 2000 niyam became Editor, PCWorld. He wrote the Edit Page 'Upfront' while continuing with his 'Iconoclast' and 'SEE++' columns.

In 1999, niyam replaced the Indian Macworld section in PCWorld with 'SEE++' a new, ground-breaking section on digital imagery and design.

Launched as the rebellious voice
of mac users in India, the Iconoclast soon evolved into tackling bigger IT issues, with the same defiance.

In Feb 2001 PCWorld india shut down due to a top-level management glitch between IDG the principal of PCWorld, and the local franchisee MTIL, over a joint-venture negotiation.
